In 2010, the landscape of lower limb care in India was heavily fragmented. Patients with chronic foot pain or early-stage diabetic foot complications were often bounced and ignored between general practitioners, orthopaedics, diabetologist and endocrinologist without finding a root-cause solution. Dr. Chhotala Shailesh recognized this critical "care gap." Drawing upon his initial specialized training, he established his foundational podiatry practice in India. During these early years, the focus was intensely clinical and hands-on: mastering fundamental foot care, treating severe biomechanical foot and lower limb pain as well as introducing early, rigorous diabetic foot and orthopaedic foot management protocols to patients who had never experienced dedicated podiatric care before anywhere in their lifetime
As patient volume grew, so did the realization that true healing required more than basic intervention—it required advanced podiatric and footwear science. In 2014, the practice officially rebranded and launched as Foot Guru. This wasn't just a name change; it was a major facility expansion and a paradigm shift in podiatry and foot care treatment. Foot Guru introduced advanced biomechanical assessments and the manufacturing of custom-moulded orthotics-footwear. The clinic moved away from simply treating symptoms (like offering painkillers for heel pain) and began correcting the actual structural architecture of the foot, cementing its philosophy of non-surgical, root-cause healing.
By 2018, Foot Guru had earned a reputation as the premier podiatry clinic in Gujarat.
